A neutral palette, rustic pieces, neatness, cleanliness, and order. I like new throw pillows, plants or fresh flowers, and candles.

Color Scheme

I am not a big color person. My scheme may seem bland to some, but I love it. Throughout my house I have used whites and creams with a darker shade thrown in for contrast. Some of my favorite fabric swatches include linens, geometric prints, and tone-on-tone prints.

I have been blogging for about two years. I started it for personal reasons, so that I could have an online catalog to document the things that I love. I enjoy reading other blogs including all of the Birmingham design blogs. Favorites include www.urbangraceinteriors.com — design posts mixed with everyday life, www.maryruffle.tumblr.com offers inspiring images, with little or no text, and www.thingsthatinspire.net is well-researched. I use it as a reference when looking for particular design elements.
