The Coolest Shops & Blogs in Town: Tracery

The Tracery look is defined as clean-lined upholstery mixed with antiques and vintage items. We usually create a neutral backdrop for a space and then layer in color through art and accessories. We like for our interiors to have a collected feel that reflects a gradual evolution, rather than feeling as if the entire room was decorated at once.
We are inspired by our clients and our design work. We always find something new and different when buying for our two retail shops. We have one in Rosemary Beach, Florida and our newest venture in Mountain Brook Village. We always admire the stunning vignettes created by Barbara Ashford and Judy Hill at Henhouse Antiques. Fresh Interiors Paint is the most dramatic way to change the way a space feels. Reupholstering a familiar piece of furniture can also breathe unexpected new life into a room.
We try to avoid anything too trendy but there’s been a recent movement toward integrating industrial and raw and unfinished elements into interiors. We’ve also noticed that unlacquered metal finishes like brass and bronze which age naturally over time, are becoming more popular and taking the place of oil-rubbed bronze.
Our mercury glass votives are beautiful when grouped together on a tabletop while entertaining.
