June 5 - 6: Magic City Brewfest

Sloss Furnaces • 20 32nd St N.

7 p.m. - 11 p.m., Fri.; 4 p.m. - 8 p.m., Sat. ​Craft beer fans from across the state come together for a weekend dedicated to learning about craft beer and sampling the best brews Alabama has to offer. There will be more than 200 beers available including many rare, specialty and cask ales. Admission is $37 per person. Designated driver tickets are $15. Cheers!

June 5 - 7: Symphony in the Summer

Railroad Park • 1600 1st Avenue

8 p.m. Fri. and Sat.; 6 p.m. Sun. Kick off the summer in musical style with three days of free concerts. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and be serenaded under the stars with the beautiful music of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.

June 5, 12, 19, 26: Ross Bridge Farmer's Market

Ross Bridge Welcome Center • 2101 Grand Ave., Hoover.

3 p.m. - 7 p.m. Every Friday, local artists, craftsmen and vendors will be selling honey, jams, jellies, produce and other artisan goods. Enjoy live music, fare from local food trucks and activities for the kids. Admission is free. 

June 6: SliceFest 2015

Slice Pizza and Brew • 725 29th Street S

Noon, gates open. This family-friendly event features local fare, brew and live music from Foundation of Funk, North Mississippi Allstars and Anders Osborne, Dumpstaphunk, Earphunk, Flow Tribe and more. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free.

June 12: Art on the Rocks!

Birmingham Museum of Art • 2000 Reverend Abraham Woods Jr Blvd.

7 p.m. - 11 p.m. Enjoy art, giveaways, food and drinks and live music from Georgia-based band, Reptar. 

June 13: Etsy Pop-Up Shop

West Elm Birmingham at The Summit • 320 Summit Blvd Suite 200

1 p.m. - 6 p.m. Meet, mingle and shop with local Etsy shop owners who will be selling their jewelry, personal care items, home goods and more.

June 13 - 14: Art in the Gardens

Aldridge Gardens • 3530 Lorna Rd., Hoover

9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sat.; 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sun. Stroll through the gardens and shop the gorgeous work of some of the best artists in the country. Returning this year will be crowd favorite jewelry artist Julie Jackson, plus many fresh faces in woodworking, jewelry, glass, fiber, sculpture, painting, watercolor, photography, drawing, clay, printmaking and mixed media. Entry fee is $5.

June 17: Birmingham Fern Society's Show and Sale

Birmingham Botanical Gardens • 2612 Lane Park Rd.

1 p.m. - 6 p.m. Browse prize-winning ferns and buy some for your garden. The sale features a variety of affordable ferns as well as free expert advice on selecting and growing the plants at home. Admission is free.

June 24: Flicks Among the Flowers

Birmingham Botanical Gardens • 2612 Lane Park Rd.

6 p.m., gates open; 8 p.m. movie. Enjoy an outdoor screening of "Ghostbusters" on the lawn along with a movie-themed menu and cash bar. Don't forget to bring a blanket! Admission is free.

June 28: Jazz in the Park

East Lake Park • 1st Avenue North & 84th St North 

6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of music featuring Daniel "Jose" Carr, On Purpose and Dwight Houston. Admission is free.
